FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
Properties in Milford, Nashua, and Wilton Could be Within Reach for Many Families

Nashua – The Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for three properties in the Greater Nashua Area. The three construction projects will begin to unfold over the next few months and span two-to-three years. Families interested in becoming Habitat home owners are strongly urged to contact the organization.

President Jerry Harrow emphasized the importance of imparting this information throughout churches, community centers, non-profit organizations and government entities who are concerned with alleviating housing problems. “There are many families who might not realize that Habitat for Humanity might help bridge those gaps that otherwise prevent home ownership, particularly in this economic climate”. Harrow pointed out that Habitat for Humanity partners with families in order to help them become home owners and relies on their volunteer work and the volunteer work of others to help bridge those gaps. “Once the home is erected by all these volunteers, the fact that it was built through volunteer efforts affords the new homeowner the opportunity to purchase the home at a zero-percent interest rate mortgage – all for about the cost of a rental apartment ($1000 per month inclusive of taxes and insurance). Habitat is very fortunate that it can offer three opportunities concurrently and as our organization continues to grow we anticipate being able to offer more home ownership opportunities”.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers to help with the family selection process (please contact Robert Gual at 603-883-0295 or at familyselection@nashabitat.org) and the aforementioned construction efforts (please contact Eric Moore at 603-883-0295 or at volunteering@nashabitat.org). To apply to become a Habitat home owner, please download an application at www.nashabitat.org, email the Family Selection Committee at familyselection@nashabitat.org, or leave a message at the office.
