Are you a crafter? Do you make jewelry, knit, crochet, make soaps, candles, pottery, stationery? Well, if you do, we need you! Last year’s first craft sale, alongside our annual Bake Sale during the Nashua Stroll, was a huge success! Last year the crafts table netted over $300! So far we have crafters donating wooden items, earrings, stained glass, pocketbooks, and knitted dishcloths. So, if you enjoy making craft items and would like to donate them to our craft table, we would greatly appreciate it! Even though the sale isn’t until November, as a fellow crafter myself, I know you need time to prepare.

The 5th annual Bake and Craft Sale will be held during the Nashua Stroll on Saturday November 27th from 5PM-9PM at the United Methodist Church on Main Street. Items can be brought to the sale on that day, or other arrangements can gladly be made.

An Annual Tradition Returns to the Stroll for a Good Cause

Nashua – Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity will return this year to the Nashua Stroll with its famous annual Bake Sale. The event will take place on Saturday, November 28^th, from 5PM- 9 PM. It will be held at the United Methodist Church on 154 Main Street, Nashua, New Hampshire (03060). Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity’s bake sale has always been a well-known stop during the Nashua Stroll. Despite affordable sale prices on a large variety of home-made pastries and hot chocolate, last year’s proceeds exceeded $1,000. This year the organization is hoping to double that amount and will include the sale of crafts in order to help increase proceeds. Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity is preparing to build homes for two families in the spring of 2010.

The organization seeks volunteers for baked good donations and to help run the event. The proceeds are all directed toward the Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity and the organization’s efforts to build and renovate houses, “so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow”. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Seeking Sponsors for Community Fun Day – September 13

We invite you to join us for our first annual “Habitat for Humanity Community Fun Day“. Our goal is to promote awareness in the area regarding the need for affordable home ownership. This event will take place at Greeley Park, on Concord St. in Nashua on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from noon to 6:00pm. The rain date for this event will be Sunday, September 20, 2009.

This fun and educational event includes activities for all ages. Some of the exciting things going on will be: exhibitors, a bake sale, raffles, youth activities, and day-long entertainment at the half shell.

We are seeking participation from local businesses and organizations to make this a successful event. Consider showcasing your business, providing community service information, or offering a youth activity as an event exhibitor.

Businesses may also donate merchandise or services, gift certificates, or provide a sponsorship of any the day’s various activities.

Please help us to make this event a success. We appreciate donations and exhibitor responses to be received before Monday, August 31, 2009. In appreciation for support your business/organization will be listed in the event program and linked from this website. In addition, if you would like to exhibit at the event, we are asking for a $25.00 donation for a 10’ x 10’ spot to showcase your business & an item to be raffled off at the event. Bring your own tables and optional canopy.

Note: No selling may occur in the park but you can hand out promotional items, flyers, and coupons.
