Newsletter Folding – November 24

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

It is time to send out our Holiday issue of the GNHFH Newsletter, we need help preparing this to be mailed. We need 20-25 people to help with the assembling (folding, stuffing, sealing, and putting on mailing labels) this Monday, November 24th, starting at 7.00pm.

This is a good opportunity for junior and senior high school students under 16, who are not allowed to volunteer on a construction site, to volunteer. It is also a great opportunity for partner families to gather ‘sweat equity’ hours.

Pizza, Snacks, and Soda will be Served. (Marie, a fellow volunteer, will bring her famous Chocolate Pumpkin Cookies with her – you really need to try these out!).

The assembling will be done in the basement of the Main Street United Methodist Church in downtown Nashua. If you can participate in this activity, please let us know. Thank you very much.

Build – November 22

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

This Saturday, we’ll support the NH state government’s Stay Warm NH project, helping to weatherize several Nashua-area homes for the winter. This will be indoor work, with at least two small teams working in parallel. We’ll meet at EMC2′s lot at 9 Townsend West in Nashua, distributing tools and proceeding from there.

For an advance look at project details, there’s a training video and a PowerPoint presentation at the Stay Warm NH Web site, www.staywarmnh.org. I have a DVD copy of the video as well; please contact me if you’d like to see that. I’ll bring hard copies of the PowerPoint.
